Q. Do I need to be a member of the OSHA Council in order to study for the qualifications?
A. No. You may apply and become associate member (AM) when you successfully complete any of OSHA Council qualifications.

Q.What is the validity of membership? 
A. All category of memberships will be valid for the period of one year.

Q. What is the prerequisite to appear for Certificate Exam? 
A: Certificate - Two years* of full-time professional industry experience in one or more fields of safety industry is the prerequisite by OSHA Council to appear for Certificate examination. *Two years of work experience may be waived with a four-year or equivalent/higher college degree or approved credential.

Q. What is the prerequisite to appear for Diploma Exam?
A: Diploma - Five years of full-time professional industry experience in one or more fields of safety industry is the prerequisite by OSHA Council to appear for Diploma examination.

Q. Where to Study for OSHA Council qualification?
A: OSHA Council has developed a comprehensive delivery framework which enables learners to achieve entry level 30-hours, Certificate and Diploma in health and safety, these courses are offered through :-
  1. OSHA Council Authorized Trainers (ATs) - OSHA Council Authorized trainers (without OTC) are eligible to deliver only 30-hour courses upon successfully registering the candidates with OSHA Council.
  2. OSHA Council Outreach Training Centers (OTC)-OSHA Council Authorized OTC can offer 10/30-hour, Certificate and Diploma programs depending on their accreditation status.

Q. How do I register?
A:  You will need to find an OTC or an AT and register with them directly or send us an email info@oshacounsil.org

Q. Do I need to complete the OSHA Council Certificate before doing the OSHA Council Diploma?

A: Please refer to "Steps for Certification"

Q. Is it possible to take a course and appear for the examination without going through OTCs or ATs?
A: You need to register with the OTCs or ATs in order to appear for the examination. As an awarding body OSHA Council does not deliver any training directly this is done through a network authorized OTCs or ATs.

Q. Can I appear for examination at a different education center than I took the training from? 
A:Yes, it can be a local college or university in your area. You need to contact your alternative exam center and arrange the examination(s) with them. The Alternative Exam Center Form needs to be sent to OSHA Council Education department in order to register yourself at the chosen center.

Q.I am a distance learning student. Where can I appear for my examinations?
A: As a distance learning student you have these options:
  • Contact one of the current OTCs or ATs and enquire if they could accept you as an external student
  • Contact a local college or university in your area and enquire if they could accept you as an external student
  • Travel to the OSHA Council public exam location near your location

In all cases, the Alternative Exam Center Form need to be sent to OSHA Council Education department in order to register yourself at the chosen center. This form is obtainable from your current Education center.
